@SurreyCouncil working only & entirely for County Hall, not with our local interests & grave concerns in mind

Dear Editor

You will be fascinated to learn that Courts Mount Road (West ) has its very own residents’ association. We objected to SCC proposals to paint double yellow lines on both sides for the full length of this generally quiet and attractive lane.  We do not want lines in our part of the road – at least, not yet.  Our signatures represented 23 objections we thought.

Result?   In the published report for the SCC committee,  that was translated into one objection, which, with the other six (in fact 13) they were clearly outnumbered by the three who apparently support the plan!   The fact that one supporter does not actually live in this road is obviously ignored.

Everything points to the conclusion that SCC is working only and entirely for County Hall, and not with our local interests and grave concerns in mind.   If, in the face of overwhelming evidence, the SCC Local Committee (Waverley) meeting decides to support the officers’ recommendation to accept the proposals, it will be incontrovertibly a gross abuse of power. How can we have any faith in an administration that is determined to ignore its electorate?

Good luck with fighting for the truth!
