CAMPAIGNERS battling to prevent Wey Hill Fairground becoming a permanent pay-and-display car park are celebrating the opportunity to fight their corner when it goes to public inquiry.
Ambitious plans to transform the area of common land now used as a free car park into a mixed-use central meeting place – with a piazza, shops and an underground car park – have already been proposed by residents as a possible alternative use.
