A robust plan for a multi-storey car park says @Jeremy_Hunt

From Jeremy Hunt’s local Conservatives newsletter which was dropped through my letterbox this week.

We have also had some tough struggles with parking plans in Haslemere but I have kept up the pressure on Network Rail and was delighted to end the year on a positive note with a robust plan for a multi storey car park which, if built, will alleviate the pressure on the town’s roads.

Jeremy pushes for car park action: Jeremy Hunt MP met representatives from Network Rail and Waverley Council Leader Robert Knowles to discuss ongoing plans for a multi storey car park at Haslemere station. Jeremy has also secured a meeting with the Secretary of State for Transport to make the case at the highest level. Jeremy and Network Rail hope that if funding can be secured then a multi storey car park could be the answer. Jeremy said: “Network Rail are keen to press ahead with their plans and I am pleased to have secured the meeting with the Transport Secretary to push things forward.” (Editor’s note Jeremy Hunt met the Transport Secretary on Thursday 14th January 2013)

In February 2009, Stagecoach South West Trains produced a Haslemere Station Multi Storey Car Park Design & Access Statement.
